1833
  • Mr. Lyman, Mr. Harvey and Silas Meacham arrive.
1834
  • The settlement of Roselle and between 12 to 15 families.
1836
  • The stagecoach line between Chicago and Galena was named Lake Street.
1850
  • The Roselle Methodist Church was established by settlers from Cornwall, England.
1872
  • The corner of Roselle and Irving Park Roads had a grain mill, a flax mill and Henry Holstein's house.  Mr. Holstein was the owner of the grain mill.
1873
  • Roselle Hough had the railroad rerouted from Bloomingdale to Roselle in order to transport his flax to market.  He paid the surveyor $10,000 to change the route.
1877
  • Roselle's first public school started as a one-room building.  The first teacher was Miss Carrie Eddy.  She earned $25 a month.
1880
  • The businesses in Roselle were a general store, the Illinois Linen Company, a grain mill, a blacksmith, a meat market, a hardware store and a harness maker.
1899
  • The first telephone service began.
1900's
  • The Becker house was the first to have running water through the use of a windmill.
1903
  • The first bank in Roselle was organized by J. Henry Hattendorf.
1905
  • The Roselle Volunteer Fire Department started.
  • The first mail delivery service began. 
1911
  • Trinity Lutheran Church was organized.
1917
  • The first gas lamps on the streets were lit each night by a lamplighter.
1920
  • The population of Roselle was 225 people.
1922
  • Electricity came to Roselle.
  • Roselle incorporated as a village, separate from Bloomingdale.
1924
  • Enrollment in the public school was 40 students.
1930
  • The population of Roselle was 800 people.
1940
  • A public library was started at Saulk Pioneer School.
1950
  • The population of Roselle was 1,038.
1962
  • Roselle was proclaimed the "Village of Roses".
1967
  • Enrollment in the elementary schools was 1,147 students.
1968
  • The population of Roselle was 5,000 people.
1989
  • The population of Roselle was 19,603 people.
