1. He and his family traveled by oxcart to Wildcat Grove, along with the Sunderlage, Meyer and Ottmann families in the 1830's.
2. He purchased 200 acres of land between 1842 and 1846.
3. A cemetery was constructed on the family's property for the community in the 1840's. It was known as "Wildcat Cemetery".
4. The family name has also been spelled "Grieve" or "Greves"  in various resources.
