Interesting Facts:
  1. He came to America in 1847.
  2. The Gieseke homestead was at Roselle and Bode Roads just south of Higgins Road.
  3. The Gieseke wedding was the first at St. Peters' Church. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Hoffman.
  4. It was farmed until Bill Gieseke sold it during World War II.
  5. The farm was purchased by Arthur Hammerstein, a Broadway producer and his wife, Dorothy Dalton, a silent film star.
