Objective Outcome Activities Supplies Multiple Intelligence Thinking Skills

One Month Approximately 16, 30 to 40 minute sessions            


Learning Standard: State Goal 17.D.2b: Identify different settlement patterns in Illinois and the United States and relate to physical features and resources

Objective: .Demonstrate the ability to gather information, sort information and present information in meaningful ways
Outcome:
A project about taking a trip virtually around Illinois

Activities:

  1. Use projection to introduce The Tour Illinois web site
    • students need to first find the distance to their first location and then determine what they can do in or around  the school that will equal that distance you repeat the math activity for each site visited
    • the links are to school sites so the students have something familiar to compare, but the school sites also have links that tell about their community
    • there is then a link to a variety of activities the students may do after they visit the school and community sites
    • Springfield and Chicago are just sites to visit different attractions in those areas (no schools)
